Neck Pain
Symptoms
Neck Pain
Some common causes
Disc bulge/trapped nerve
A bulging disc can press on a nerve as it exits the spine via a hole called the lateral canal. This can cause arm pain, arm weakness, pins and needles, numbness and tingling.
Osteoarthritis, Spondylosis & 'Wear and Tear'
In response to physical stress, bone gets laid down, forming small bony protrusions called osteophytes on our vertebrae. Moreover, as we age, our discs dehydrate and the joint spaces between the vertebrae get narrower. Collectively, these changes can cause pain and stiffness.
Physical and Emotional Stress
‘Tech neck’ is something we see regularly, with increased use of computers and phones, causing us to carry our heads more forward. This causes persistent postural stress through the joints and muscles of the neck, which can cause neck and upper back pain and headaches. Moreover, busy home and working lives can cause tension in the neck and shoulder muscles, which in turn can cause neck pain.
How do we treat this condition?
We build you a bespoke treatment plan
We tailor-make a treatment plan for you, cherry picking from the range of treatments we have in our tool-kit.
We will always discuss the type of treatment with you before your treatment plan begins.
We personalise your plan, for example, some people don’t like needles, while others find them a great help. Some people love the ‘crack’ of a manipulation, others don’t.
