Nearly 30 years experience

Wetherby Chiropractic has been established for nearly 15 years. Kate Palmer and Rachael Thomson have nearly 30 years experience in clinical practice and are proud to be part of this market town community. Their on-site exercise rehabilitation facility allows treatments to be tailored with particular emphasis on strength and conditioning exercise. They both work closely with the on-site podiatrist and physiotherapist to make sure patients get the best and most specific care.

Kate Palmer

MSc Chiro DC, MA Neuroscience (Cantab)

Kate believes in providing healthcare of the highest quality, tailored to your needs, using a warm, caring, friendly approach.

Having always been fascinated by the workings of the human body, she studied Neuroscience at Cambridge University, where she gained a double first MA (Hons). She later studied for an MSc in Chiropractic at the University of Surrey, graduating with distinction. She is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association. Her first chiropractic position was in a long-established clinic in Godalming, Surrey, where she worked for several years before relocating to Yorkshire.

She then established Wetherby Chiropractic in 2007. Originally from Northern Ireland (though not devoid of Yorkshire genes), she’s a big fan of the great outdoors, and is kept busy by her two young children.  She has experience of treating many people, from jockeys to professional footballers, from builders to medical consultants, from 9 year olds, to 90 year olds.  “Everyone is unique, and thus needs a unique treatment programme, tailored specifically to their needs.”

Rachael Thomson

BSc MChiro DC

Rachael has been in practice now for 12 years and is a certified expert in extremity adjusting. This means that she has specialist training in the treatment of the shoulder, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Rachael says “It is so important to check the whole body, including all the joints, to work out where the issue is coming from. I often find that a low back issue will originate in either poor hip mechanics or poor foot mechanics.”

Rachael has worked closely over the years with many professional athletes, but she admits that her real joy lies in treating or ‘fine tuning’ those who are wanting to become stronger and live a healthier lifestyle. Over the years, Rachael has gone on to have a family herself and her studies have taken her towards the treatment of pregnant women, babies and children. “You know you’ve had a good day when three generations of one family have all been to visit the clinic in the same day!”
